  I was pulled over for driving too closely to a parked police vehicle along East-bound I-10 in Marana during morning rush hour. There were actually two police vehicles I passed as part of a sting operation (I was later told this by the sargeant when I complained.) set up to nab drivers like me. I am not joking: I switched lanes to the right to get off at the Orange Grove exit and must have passed about one foot behind the front end of the second vehicle for my exit and I got stopped for it. Neither vehicle was running. Neither vehicle had emergency lights on. No officers were outside their respective vehicles. I created no hazzard whatsoever. In court, the officer told the judge that he was parked approximately 200 yards from the exit and I swear it was closer to 20 than 200. In addition to being pulled over, I was rudely treated by the officer and immediately handed a ticket. When I went to the brand new Marana court house facility to have my case heard before a judge, I was given about two minutes to explain my side of the story, the ticket was not reduced in the slightest, and it cost me over $200. Ironically enough, my grandfather was a judge for over 40 years, and I don't believe he would have been at all pleased if I had explained to him what happened. Why? Because there's something called strict enforcement of the letter of the law, and in my humble opinion, the Marana police officer, as well as the judge, went beyond this boundary. It was absurd, and I think my grandfather would have agreed with my assessment of the handling of this incident.
